Kitchen Defender VR

2-week solo VR project

Platform: Standalone VR headsets (Meta Quest 2, 3 & Pro)

A 2-week solo project where I created a VR game in Unity where you play as an annoyed chef who's kitchen keeps getting invaded by waves of invading animated food that progressivly try harder and harder to get into your sacred stew. Using weapons like knives and rolling pins you must defend your kitchen at all costs. The game was built using Unity and C#.

Features

  • Spline pathing - Easily adjustable enemy pathing, right now there are 4 possible paths. The game code recognizing all paths in the scene so no additional code is needed to add more paths
  • Extremely modular enemy and wave system - utilizing scriptable objects to easily adjust speed, health, sound effects, models, and more
  • 6DOF movement
  • Controllers and hand tracking support
  • Distance weapon-grabbing
  • Smooth editor camera for recording gameplay footage or showcasing the game
